W. Lacrosse Defeats Tenn. Wesleyan at NWLL 13-8

The Women's Lacrosse Team wins its first round game at the NWLL Championship against Tennessee Wesleyan in Lindenwood-Bellville, Illinois, 13-8. 

The Lady Bees jumped off to a 6-1 lead in the first half on goals by Kayla Nelson, Charlotte Cutts (2), Jordan Cook (2) and Chelsea Stambouly.  In the second half of play, SCAD stretched its lead to 8-2 on goals by Nelson and Hayley Fauvelle. 

Tennessee Wesleyan was never able to get closer than four goals to the Bees.  It seemed that SCAD was able to answer every score with one of its own.  The Bees outshot its opponent by a margin of 35-17 with Fauvelle leading the way with 3 goals.Cook, Nelson and Cutts scored two each, with the remaining four goals scored by Rachel Ackley, Britney Lukowski, Alexis Spaide, and Stambouly.

SCAD plays tomorrow at 5 p.m. as they advance to the second round against Aquinas University.  Go Bees!
