The Bees have now won six in a row and have a 10-3 overall record.  Their 9-1 conference record has moved them past Indiana Tech to take sole possession of first place in the NWLL (National Women's Lacrosse League).

The 2012 NWLL Tournament qualifiers have been identified and SCAD is among them.  Congratulations go to our Women's Lacrosse team for earning a trip to Rome on April 19-21 to play for the 2nd NWLL Tournament title!

Game Results

The latest of SCAD's victories took place this afternoon in Rome, Georgia where the Bees defeated a very competitve Shorter University Hawks team.  Shorter had a record of 6-1 in the NWLL so the Bees knew that the competition would be fierce.   SCAD scored in the first minute and a half to take a quick 1-0 lead.  It was short-lived however as Shorter scored the next four goals.  Being down 4-1 did not sit well with the Bees who have been on a great run of six straight victories.   Before the clock struck the 10:42 mark the Bees had scored six straight goals.  At the end of the first half SCAD held a 9-6 edge.

Scoring came early and late in the second half.  Before ten minutes had gone by seven goals were scored - Shorter had 4 while SCAD had three.  SCAD was holding onto a 10-8 lead when both teams went defensive.  No goal was scored for the next 13 and a half minutes of the half.  At the 7:57 mark Brittany Lukowski was able to slip by the Shorter defenders for a goal.  A minute later Haley Fauvelle did the same thing.  With the clock running down SCAD held a lead of four.  Shorter cut the lead to three at 5:26.  It was not until Kayla Nelson scored her seventh and final score of the game at the 3:28 mark that SCAD could breathe a little easier.  It was time to run out the clock.  And that is what they did.  The final score was SCAD 15, Shorter 11.

Nelson (7), Charlotte Cutts (3), and Jaclyn Scott (2) combined to score 12 of SCAD's 15 goals.  Nelson was 7 of 10 in her shots on goal.  Cutts was 3 of 6, while Scott was a perfect 2 for 2.

Jennifer Danko had a very good game as goalie for the Bees.  She saved 18 shots on goal.  Shaina Levin led the Bees in ground balls with six.  Alexis Spaide and Casey Reiser had 4 each.

The Bees return to their home field at the SCAD's Sports Complex where they will face Lenoir-Rhyne University in a nonconference game on 4/6.  Game time is at 3:30 pm.  Come out and support your Bees.
