The women's lacrosse team continued its winning ways with a 16-3 victory over visiting Siena Heights University. SCAD's win pushes their record to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The first of 16 goals came at the 28:58 mark and SCAD never lost the lead. Goals came at a rapid pace for the Bees who held a 5-0 lead until the Saints scored their first goal at 11:10 mark in the first half. At the end of the half SCAD held an 11-2 advantage.
The second half saw the Bees continue to penetrate the Saints' defense. Five more scores were registered on a very proficient shot percentage (56%). The Bees outshot the Saints 36-9.
The Bees' offensive efforts were led by
Kayla Nelson with five goals.
Charlotte Cutts and
Britney Lukowski each contributed three goals apiece, along with two from
Rachel Ackley, and one each from
Chelsea Bernardo,
Jaclyn Scott, and
Julia Carney.
Other notable contributions to the women's second victory of the young season were multiple assists from
Haley Fauvelle and
Jaclyn Scott. Defenders
Sophie Spivack and
Shaina Levin together scooped up eight ground balls to clear the Saints from a scoring position.
The women will return to action on 3/13 for a game against visiting Tiffin University at 7:30 pm.
