WINTER PARK, Fla. – SCAD Savannah defeated Erskine College 20-6 in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Thursday (March 24) afternoon at Hungerford Prep.
The Bees improved to 5-4 while the NCAA Division II Flying Fleet fell to 1-8. SCAD returns to action Wednesday (March 30) with a 7 p.m. match against Shorter University at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
Erskine jumped out to a 2-1 lead with 27:04 to play in the first half on two early goals by Alesia Jerrells. The Bees tied the match 23 seconds later on a free-position shot by
Devin Dorsey. It was the first of five unanswered goals for SCAD as they pushed its lead to 6-2 on a
Samantha North goal with 20:16 left in the half. After Jerrells scored two more goals for the Fleet, the Bees closed out the half with four more goals - the last coming by
Sophie Swan with five seconds left – to take a 10-4 lead at halftime.
Erskine got as close as five goals (11-6) after Anna Dailey scored with 24:31 remaining in the match, but the Bees ended the match by scoring the final nine goals to extinguish any Fleet rally.
Swan led the Bees with seven goals while
Chelsea Bernardo and Dorsey each scored three times.

Nicky Mula had two apiece while North tallied one. Bernardo, Lukowski and Swan each added two assists in the win. Goalies
Lauren Alexander (eight) and
Quinn Baldacci (four) combined for 12 saves.
