HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Eight different players scored a goal as the SCAD Savannah women's lacrosse team defeated Agnes Scott College 17-6 Sunday (March 20) afternoon at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
The Bees improved to 4-3 while the Scotties fell to 1-5. SCAD returns to action Tuesday (March 22) with a 1 p.m. match against Western Connecticut State University at the ESPN Wild World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Fla.
Nicky Mula and Chelsea Bernando each scored twice in the first half as the Bees built up a 9-1 advantage. Agnes Scott got as close as six goals (11-5) midway through the second half, but SCAD scored six of the final seven goals in the match to erase any thoughts of a comeback by the Scotties.
Bernardo paced the Bees, who outshot Agnes Scott 44-17, with four goals, while
Alexis Spaide and Mula each contributed three.
Jaclyn Scott and
Samantha North each found the back of the net twice while
Haley Fauvelle,
Kim Caltagirone and
Britney Lukowski each had one. Fauvelle assisted on five goals for SCAD followed by Spaide with three, Bernardo with two and Scott with one.
Lauren Alexander recorded three saves in the first half in goal for SCAD while
Quinn Baldacci had four in the second half.
