Bobcats edge SCAD 5-4

ORLANDO, Fla. –
St. Thomas (Fla.) University rallied to sweep the double matches en route to a 5-4 The Sun Conference men's tennis victory over SCAD Savannah Saturday (March 19) afternoon at the Lake Cane Tennis Center.

The Bobcats, who are ranked No. 14 in the NAIA, improved to 8-2 overall and to 3-1 in the conference while the 24th-ranked Bees fell to 2-3 and 1-2. SCAD returns to action on its spring break trip to central Florida with an 11:30 a.m. league encounter with Ave Maria University at the Star Island Resort & Club in Kissimmee, Fla.

The Bees took a 4-2 lead after singles as Kaan Yaylali, Mihai Draganescu, Darnell Sgubin and Noah Moerkerken each picked up wins. However, the Bobcats swept all three doubles match to pull out the victory after Adrian Escarate and Nicolas Etienne took an 8-5 decision at the No. 1 flight over Dean Loock and Yaylali.
