ATHENS, Tenn. – Nine players scored as the Savannah College of Art and Design women's lacrosse team shut out Indiana Institute of Technology 22-0 Sunday (March 14) afternoon.
The Bees improved to 7-0. The win – the first shutout in the program's history - also set a new university standard for victories in a season, surpassing the six matches SCAD won a year ago. SCAD returns to action Tuesday (March 16) with a 5 p.m. contest against College at Florham campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
Nicky Mula led the scoring parade for the Bees with six goals while
Chelsea Bernardo,
Devin Dorsey and
Alexis Spaide tallied three each.
Britney Lukowski put in two goals while
Kim Caltagirone,
Nicole Burns,
Jaclyn Scott,
Leah Pluger and
Allie Page each found the back of the net once. Dorsey led SCAD with five assists while
Alicia Anderson, Burns, Page and Caltagirone each had two. Bernardo, Lukowski, Mula, Spaide and Scott had one assist apiece. Page led the SCAD defense with six ground balls while Caltagirone had three. Lukowski, Pluger and Mula contributed two ground balls each while Dorsey added one.
