ATHENS, Tenn. – The Savannah College of Art and Design women's lacrosse team picked up two road wins Saturday (March 13). The Bees won the opener over Missouri Baptist University 18-3 before taking a 16-3 decision over host Tennessee Wesleyan College.
The Bees improved to 6-0. With the wins, SCAD equaled last season's total of six, which set a university-record for wins in a season. SCAD will go for the record win Sunday (March 14) with a noon match against the Indiana Institute of Technology.
Against Missouri Baptist,
Devin Dorsey led the Bees with five goals while
Kim Caltagirone and
Chelsea Bernardo added three goals each.
Alexis Spaide and
Jaclyn Scott registered two goals while
Nicole Narkiewicz,
Alicia Anderson, and
Britney Lukowski contributed one apiece. Scott led the Bees with three assists while
Nicky Mula had two and Spaide added one more.
Goalie
Khylen Steward had six saves while
Lauren Alexander had four. Caltagirone also had nine ground balls while Lukowski and Spaide each tallied seven. Bernardo,
Allie Page and
Nicole Burns each had five ground balls for the Bees.
In the win over Tennessee Wesleyan, Dorsey was again the top scorer for the Bees with seven goals. Mula, Caltagirone, Spaide and Scott each found the back of the net twice while Page had one. Dorsey tallied six assists while Scott had one.
Alexander had three saves in goal for the Bees while Steward recorded two. Page paced the Bees with 13 ground balls while Spaide had seven. Dorsey had five ground balls for the Bees while
Leah Pluger had three.
