SCAD holds off Warner 5-4

LAKE WALES, Fla. -
The Savannah College of Art and Design men's tennis team recorded a 5-4 The Sun Conference victory over Warner University Sunday (Feb. 14) morning.

The 19th-ranked Bees improved to 1-1 overall and to 1-1 in the conference while the Royals remained winless in three conference and overall matches. SCAD returns to action Sunday (Feb. 21) with a 3:30 p.m. home match at the Savannah Yacht Club against the University of South Carolina at Aiken.

SCAD took a 2-1 lead after doubles after picking up wins at the top two positions. The Royals rallied to tie the match at 4 when Diogo Barros claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Romeo Juhasz at No. 2 singles. However, the Bees claimed the match when Dean Loock recorded a 6-1, 6-4 win over Akharis Sa-ardphanchai at No. 1 singles.
