SAVANNAH, Ga. - South Carolina State University edged Savannah College of Art and Design 4-3 in a men's tennis match Sunday (March 22) afternoon at the Bacon Park Tennis Courts.

The NCAA Division I Bulldogs improved to 10-5 while the Bees, who are ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, fell to 7-2. SCAD returns to action Friday (March 27) at the Blast-off Tournament in Rome, Ga.

S.C. State took wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to claim the doubles point. The teams battled in singles play as three matches were extended to three sets. The Bulldogs clinched the match when David Grund claimed a 7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-5 victory over Willy Frei at No. 4 singles.
