Ellert Hreinsson scored two goals in the final 16 minutes as the Savannah College of Art and Design men's soccer team recorded a 3-2 The Sun Conference victory over St. Thomas (Fla.) University Sunday (Sept. 21) afternoon.
The Bees got back to .500 mark as they improved to 3-3-2 overall and to 1-1-1 in the conference while the Bobcats fell to 3-3-0 and 2-2-0. SCAD returns to action Friday (Sept. 26) when they travel to Lake Wales, Fla., for a 7 p.m. conference match against Warner Southern College.
Trailing by a goal, Hreinsson tied the match at 2 with a header off a cross from
Dan Fadida. The forward from Kopavogur, Iceland, recorded the match-winning goal in the 84th minute off a cross from
Nate Londa. It was Hreinsson's sixth goal of the season.
The Bees got their first goal when Fadida scored his sixth goal of the season in the first half on a penalty kick, which was set up after Hreinsson was taken down in the box.
