AMERICUS, Ga. -
Junior midfielder Dan Fadida scored twice as the Savannah College of Art and Design men's soccer team defeated Georgia Southwestern State University 3-1 Wednesday (Sept. 17) afternoon in a non-conference match at Hurricane Field.

The Bees improved to 2-3-2 while the NCAA Division II Hurricanes fell to 1-6-0. SCAD returns to action with a 4 p.m. The Sun Conference match against St. Thomas (Fla.) University Sunday (Sept. 21) afternoon in Miami.

SCAD wasted little time getting in the scoring column. SCAD scored 52 seconds into the match when Ellert Hreinsson dropped a soft cross the middle that Fadida put past GSW freshman goalkeeper Michael Smith. In the 16th minute, Karl Sjostrom found Ryan Gadhue on another cross to give the Bees a 2-0 lead. It was Gadhue's fourth of the season.

The Hurricanes got a goal back in the 31st minute when Jamie Kiep scored his fourth goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Sam Hooke.

The score remained 2-1 until the 67th minute when Fadida knocked in a free kick from the middle of the field just outside the box.  It was Fadida's team-leading fifth goal of the season.

The Bees outshot the Hurricanes 16-8 and led in corner kicks 7-2. Smith and SCAD goalkeeper Robbie Wright each saved four shots.
