HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - John Healy and
Peter Callahan scored four goals each to lead the Savannah College of Art and Design scoring parade as the Bees defeated Georgia Southern University 17-2 in the inaugural men's lacrosse match at the SCAD Athletics Complex Friday (Feb. 8) night.
Led by the outstanding play of goalie
Kenan Degirmenci who kept Georgia Southern out of the net all evening, the Bees (1-1) jumped out to a 7-2 lead over the Eagles before exploding for 10 unanswered goals in the second half to coast to the win.
Erik Elmquist slammed home three goals and led all Bees with nine ground balls while
Stewart Yost and
Eric Willenson each tallied two goals each. #E.A. Spencer Gray
and Kyle Narkiewicz# each added a goal for SCAD in the win.
SCAD will try to continue its winning ways Sunday (Feb. 10) when they take on Eckerd College at 1 p.m. at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
