THOMASVILLE, Ga. - Thomas (Ga.) University got a goal midway through the second half as the Night Hawks upset the Savannah College of Art and Design 2-1 in a non-conference women's soccer match Sunday (Nov. 2) afternoon at the Wendy's Soccer Complex.
The Night Hawks improved to 4-12-1 while the 11th-ranked Bees saw their eight-match winning streak snapped and ended the regular season with an 11-5-0 ledger. SCAD will find out its next opponent when The Sun Conference Tournament brackets are released Monday (Nov. 3).
With the score tied at 1, Casey Ponder scored for Thomas off an assist from Naama Wolf in the 71st minute. The Night Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute when Alda Vojnikovic scored off another Wolf assist. SCAD equalized the match on Lauren O'Malley's fifth goal of the season and third in the past two matches six minutes later.
