LAKELAND, Fla. - The Savannah College of Art and Design women's swimming team swept a double dual against Florida Southern College and Saint Leo University Saturday (Oct. 25) morning at the Hollis Wellness Center Pool.
The Bees defeated Florida Southern 82-13 and Saint Leo 74-21. SCAD improved to 3-2. SCAD returns to action Nov. 8 with a 1 p.m. meet against Emory University in Atlanta.
The Bees won nine of the 11 events competed. SCAD, which won both relay events, saw
Stephanie McNicol and
Savanah Watts each recorded two wins on the women's side. McNicol won the 500 (5:12.62) and 1,650 freestyle (17:54.25) races while Watts was tops in the 100 (55.91) and 200 freestyle (1:58.41).
Cassie Dixon (50 freestyle, 24.63),
Carly Keith (100 butterfly, 1:00.59) and Mary Ashley Krough (100 backstroke, 1:01.90) also registered wins.
