MIAMI —
Jon Gretar Olafsson scored twice and Richard Hurlin assisted on three goals as the Savannah College of Art and Design recorded a 4-0 Florida Sun Conference shutout over St. Thomas (Fla.) University in a men's soccer match Saturday (Sept. 22) afternoon.

The 21st-ranked Bees won their fourth consecutive match and improved to 5-2-0 overall and to 3-1-0 in the Florida Sun, while the Bobcats fell to 1-6-1 and 0-3-0. SCAD returns to action Wednesday (Sept. 26) at 7 p.m. when they will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., to face No. 13 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University.

The Bees scored all of their goals in the second half as they took advantage of playing with a man advantage for the final 72 minutes of the match after St. Thomas had a player sent off with a red card.

Darren Spong gave the Bees a 1-0 lead at the 49:42 mark off a corner kick from Hurlin, who leads the team with a college-record tying nine assists in 2007. Olafsson gave SCAD some cushion as he scored the next two goals to give the Bees a 3-0 lead at the 88:44 mark. Hurlin, who leads the Bees with 13 total points, scored the final goal for the Bees on a penalty kick with 16 seconds left.

SCAD goalkeeper Tommi Sarkkinen notched the third shutout of the season for the Bees.
