No. 1 Emory defeats SCAD 107-89

SAVANNAH, Ga.  — 
Emory University women's swimming team defeated the Savannah College of Art and Design 107-89 Saturday (Nov. 3) afternoon at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.

Emory, which is ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III, improved to 2-1. SCAD, which finished third in the NAIA last season, fell to 2-2. SCAD returns to the pool Friday (Nov. 9) with a 4 p.m. meet against Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.

Cassie Dixon claimed the lone win in the women's meet for the Bees as the defending NAIA national champion won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.33. Dixon also registered one of five second-place finishes for SCAD as she finished runner-up in the 100 freestyle (53.90). Dixon, along with teammates Julie Glaser, Liz Roberts and Carly Keith came in second place in the 400 medley relay (4:07.75). Stephanie McNicol (1,000 freestyle, 10:39.10; 500 freestyle, 5:15.90) and Rachel Fritts (200 butterfly, 2:11.30) were the other runner-ups for the Bees.
