KENOSHA, Wis. — Savannah College of Art and Design cross country runner Tyler French nearly set a college record Saturday (Nov. 17) at the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship.

It was the second consecutive year the Bees have sent a least one men's runner to the national championship.

The Antrim, N.H., native crossed the finish line in a time of 27:09.4 – 1.4 seconds off the record (27:08) held by former runner Adam Stockholm. French finished in 197th place overall out of 258 runners. Azusa Pacific University's Aron Rono won the race with a time of 23:52.1.

“The true measurement of our program is the progression you make (during the season),” said cross country coach Michael Sergi. "Tyler exemplified that progression. It was a great race and I'm looking forward to coming back with the entire team next year.”
