DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Savannah College of Art and Design had five women's soccer players named to one of the All-Florida Sun Conference teams that were announced at the NAIA Region XIV Tournament banquet Thursday (Nov. 4) evening at the Hampton Inn Daytona Speedway.
Laura Vaughn was named to the first team, while Lindsay Lowder was named to the second team. Lindy Krakowiak, Lisa Gallant and Brittany Morgenstern were named to the honorable mention team.
Vaughn, a senior midfielder from Fayetteville, Ark., led the Bees with eight goals and 17 points this season as SCAD earned a No. 4 seed at the NAIA Region XIV Tournament which will be held Nov. 5-6. Vaughn set a school record for goals in a match (four) and points in a match (eight) in a victory over Warner Southern College this season. She is currently third on the all-time lists for goals (20) and points (48). She is also tied for fourth on the all-time assists list (eight).
Lowder, a freshman forward from Pasadena, Md., led the team with three assists and was third in goals scored with three. Her nine points was also third best in 2004.
Krakowiak, a senior defender from East Amherst, N.Y., was third on team with three goals and two assists. She also finished fourth in points with eight. Gallant, a sophomore goalkeeper from Nashua, N.H., had a 1.96 goals against average in 1,191 minutes of action in 2004. Gallant compiled 76 saves as she registered three shutouts. She also shared two other shutouts this season. Morgenstern, a freshman forward from Lawrenceville, Ga., was second for the Bees with seven goals and 14 points.
