SCAD Women's Lacrosse player, Kayla Nelson, was selected as the Student-Artist-Athlete Player of the Week for April 15-21.
Nelson is a sophomore for the women's team. She is an Industrial Design major with a 3.73 GPA.
Nelson is a part of the Women's Lacrosse Team that went 14-3 this season and on 3/21/13 won the NWLL National Championship for the second year in a row. In the 3 matches of the Tournament this past week Nelson scored 14 goals, had 1 assist, and accumulated 16 ground balls.
Nelson set a NWLL Championship record by scoring 9 goals in the championship final against Indiana Tech. Because of her play in the finals Nelson was selected to the All-Tournament Team and was chosen as the MVP of the NWLL Championship
