Holy Innocents' Episcopal School Athletics

After scoring the clinching point in the Bees win over Georgia Southern, Karina Rovira has been named Reed Publications Female Artist-Athlete Player of the Week.

Rovira began the day teaming up with Julia Albuquerque at No. 2 doubles. The duo rallied from down 5-2 to even the score at 7-7, before the two teams traded points to force the tiebreaker. After falling behind 0-2 in the tiebreaker, the Bees rallied to win the tiebreaker 7-5 to clinch the doubles point for SCAD.

In singles, Rovira came from behind to win the first set 7-6 (7-5). After dropping the second set, Rovira rallied to win the third set 6-3 to clinch the match for the Bees.

The win is the Bees first win over a Division I opponent in school history.
