After winning the 200 free and breaking the pool record, Abigail Richey, has been named Reed Publications Female Artist-Athlete Player of the Week.

Richey won the 200 free with a time of 1:52.78, which broke Georgia Southern’s pool record by one second. She followed that up by finishing third in the 50 free and 100 free touching with a time of 25.07 and 54.28, respectfully. In her final individual event of the meet Richey swam 59.95 in the 100 butterfly to finish fifth.

Richey also played a key role on the Bees relay teams. She anchored the 400 free relay that finished third. Her split of 52.33 was the second fastest of the day. Richey also competed in the 200 free relay and the 400 medley relay.

This season Richey has hit the NAIA "A" standard in six different events. She is ranked first in the NAIA in the 200 free, third in the 100 free and seventh in the 100 butterfly.

This is the second straight week that Richey has won this award.
