After hitting a NAIA “A” standard in the 5,000 meters Jessy Scarpone has named Reed Publications female Student-Artists-Athlete “Player of the Week” for April 13-April 20.

Scarpone’s winning time of 17:19.23 was 17 seconds faster than the standard of 17:36.30. She also broke the school record by 14 seconds, which she set at the Savannah State Eye Opener in 2014. 

Scarpone has run a qualifying standard in each of her three races this season.  She broke the school record and hit an “A” standard in the 10,000 and has a “B” standard in the 1500.
