SCAD Women's Lacrosse player, Kayla Nelson, was selected as the Student-Artist-Athlete Co-Player of the Week for April 14-20.

Nelson is a junior for the women's team.  She is an Industrial Design major with a 3.5 GPA.

Nelson is a part of the Women's Lacrosse Team that continued to make SCAD history this last week by winning its 15th game in a row without a defeat in the 2014 regular and postseason.  No prior SCAD athletic team had ever had an undefeated regular season (11-0).   The team added 4 more wins in postseason play to make it 15 in-a-row before losing in the NWLL National Championship title game.

In the NWLL Championships this last week Nelson was a part of two victories for SCAD that resulted in its playing for a third consecutive national title.  The Lady Bees lost the title game by a heartbreaking 12-13 score, but Nelson was selected to the 2014 NWLL All-Tournament Team based on her 3-game performance.

Nelson was prolific in her scoring.  Over the three games played in the championships she scored 13 goals and had 4 assists.  She also led the team in shots on goal (19) and ground controls (14).

Congratulations to Kayla Nelson for her Student-Artist-Athlete Co-Player of the Week honor.  This is the fourth time that Nelson has won this award.

Other worthy considerations were Jennifer Danko and Charlotte Cutts (W. Lacrosse) and Theresa Schmaus (W. Tennis).
