SCAD Equestrian Michael Kocher was selected as the SCAD "Student-Artist-Athlete Player of the Week" for February 24 - March 2.
Kocher was a rider in the 2014 SCAD IHSA3 on March 1. Kocher won the Open Over the Fences competition, as well as Open Flat. His performances in these two competitions were instrumental in his being selected as the High Point Rider for the 2014 SCAD IHSA3.
When added to his teammates’ finishes in other competitions the SCAD Bees were rewarded by winning the IHSA show for the eighth time in the ten horse shows of 2013-14. Kocher has already qualified for the IHSA Zone Finals in Class 8 over Fences, and Class 7 Open Flat. In addition to these accolades, he is the leader by 17 points in the Cacchione standings for High Point Rider, the most prestigious of Equestrian awards.
Kosher is a superlative rider for an Equestrian team that ranks 1st in Region 5 Zone 5. SCAD leads the 2nd place riding team, University of Florida, by 76 points.
Kocher is sophomore at SCAD with, as yet, an undeclared major.

Congratulations to Michael Kocher for his accomplishments this past week. This is the third time Kocher has received this recognition.
