SCAD Equestrian Tori Smolinski was selected as the SCAD "Student-Artist-Athlete Player of the Week" for January 20-26.

The SCAD Equestrian Team had a very successful tournament this past week in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Not only did SCAD win the Winter Tournament of Champions title, but by doing so they also won the Overall Tournament of Champions competition. Contributing to the prestigious victory was sophomore Tori Smolinski.

Smolinski won the Walk/Trot Equitation with competitors from 20 colleges attending the tournament. The victory was especially noteworthy due to the fact that Smolinski had come down with the flue right before the competition and had one of the more difficult rides in her class.

Her performance for the week earned her SCAD’s “Student-Artist-Athlete Player of the Week” recognition. Smolinski is a Graphic Design major at SCAD and carries a 3.83 GPA. This is Smolinski's first "Student-Artist-Athlete Player of the Week" honor.

Other worthy considerations were Joel Ax (M. Swimming), Jon Riley and Emanuel Krieg (M. Track and Field), Jessy Scarpone (W. Track and Field), and Quinn Lowsky and Cecille Langley (Equestrian)
