Holy Innocents' Episcopal School Athletics

SCAD W. Cross Country runner Melanie Novack was selected as the SCAD “Student-Artist-Athlete Co-Player of the Week” for November 18-25.

Novack took part in the NAIA Cross Country National Championships this past weekend in Lawrence, Kansas. Thirty-two colleges and 319 women athletes took part in the 5K championship run. She ran a time of 18:47, averaging 6:03 per mile. Her time was good enough for a 48^th place finish among the 319 competitors. Her finish was only 18 spots and 18 seconds from her earning All-America honors.

It is only fitting that senior Novack complete her Cross County career at SCAD in the NAIA National Championship. At the time of this article Novack holds 5 of the top 20 fastest times in SCAD history. Her personal best time in the 5K is 17:56, which stands as 6^th best all-time for SCAD.

Novack is a Fashion major from St. Augustine, Florida.
