SCAD Women's Tennis player Theresa Schmaus was selected as the SCAD "Student-Artist-Athlete Player of the Week" for October 7-13.
Schmaus plays no. 1 singles and also no. 1 doubles for the SCAD Bees This past week she participated in USTA/IT National Small College Championships in Fort Myers, Florida. In the NAIA division of the single elimination tournament Schmaus went on to defeat all her opponents, including a higher seeded player in the title match. Schmaus finished the three day tournament as the NAIA USTA/IT Small College National Champion.
In addition to being undefeated in her sport for the week, Schmaus also excels in the classroom. A senior majoring in Fashion Marketing and Management, she carries a 3.62 cumulative GPA at SCAD. Because of her academic excellence Schmaus was selected as a 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete on 5/17.
