SAVANNAH, Ga. – SCAD Savannah has announced that PWBA standout Verity Crawley has been hired as the men's and women's bowling assistant coach. Crawley will begin her role with the team this weekend in SCAD's home event at AMF Savannah Lanes.

"I am very excited for this new position as bowling is my greatest passion. Since a very young age, I have had some excellent coaches that were the key to my growth that have allowed me to get where I am today. I am thankful that now I get to use everything I have learned to benefit these collegiate athletes and help them achieve their goals," said Crawley.

Crawley, a native of England has had much success as competitive bowler over the years. Most recently, she claimed two second place finishes on the PWBA tour this past summer at the PWBA Fountain Valley Open and PWBA Detroit Open. In addition, she competed at the Smithfield PWBA Tour Championships as one of the top 16 points leaders for the season.

Prior to joining the Bees, Crawley bowled collegiately at Webber International University where she was part of the 2013 and 2014 NAIA National Championship Team as well as the 2016 Intercollegiate Team Championship win. As part of the Webber program, she earned several All-American awards and was nominated for the Collegiate Player of the Year in 2016.

Before entering the collegiate realm, Crawley was a member of junior team England. She became the first bowler to earn a gold medal in singles at the 2012 European Youth Championships for her country and earned a bronze medal in all-events.

"During the hiring process, I was looking for someone with collegiate experience but more importantly someone that would serve as a tremendous role model for our student-athletes. Coming from the same collegiate program, she understands our team's philosophy and will be an incredible asset on and off the lanes," said SCAD head coach Katie Thornton

Crawley is currently a USBC Bronze certified coach and is a professional staff member for Logo Infusion, Columbia 300 and Vise Inserts.
